An award winning music teacher, Robert Styron spent 14 years as director of vocal music at the Denver School of the Arts in Colorado. In this position he guided all vocal music activities and the development of music curriculum for students 6th through 12th grade. Related responsibilities ranged from coordinating and taking part in trips to regional competitions and international festivals to overseeing budget and payroll management efforts. Robert Styron also took part in community outreach initiatives, including the organization of fundraising events to benefit the school’s student scholarship fund.
Robert Styron studied public administration at the University of New Orleans, graduating with a master of arts in 1994. During his time at the school, he functioned as project manager for the Neighborhood Housing Improvement grant through a Department of Housing and Urban Development internship. He also engaged with the local chamber of commerce and student government, as well as other municipal and campus activities. Prior to joining the Denver School of the Arts, he earned a master of arts in music education at the University of Colorado.
